About the Artist

My name is JoMerra Watson and I am a traditional artist, educator, and graphic designer based in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BFA, I became a state certified teacher and guided student experimentation in a variety of media for over 6 years. I love being able to help young artists embrace challenges that require creative problem solving, and have always appreciated art’s ability to engage and connect us.

While studying at Southern Methodist University, I further developed my skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. As an artist, I value traditional drawing and painting media, but I believe graphic design is a powerful tool for communication and storytelling. My specialities include web design, package design, and branding. I am constantly inspired by the world around me and strive to create designs that are both beautiful and functional.
